Pregnancy Counseling

One of the best choices you can make when faced with an unplanned pregnancy is the choice to seek counseling in a safe, confidential setting. Life Matters has trained peer counselors who are experienced in meeting the needs of those facing the challenges pregnancy can bring.

A good choice takes time. Allow yourself time to consider all your options. Don’t allow anyone to rush you in the decision-making process. Whether you need one counseling appointment or many, we are here to give you the support and information that can help in your decision and beyond.

Ultrasound

If you have had a positive pregnancy test, it is important to have the test verified with an ultrasound exam. Making a decision you feel good about includes getting all the information you need.

In addition to verifying the pregnancy test, if you are considering abortion, we can offer you a limited ultrasound to help answer the following questions.  (1) Is the pregnancy located where it should be (in the uterus not the tube)?  (2) Approximately how far along are you?  (3) Do we see what we would expect to see in a healthy early pregnancy since the miscarriage rate in early pregnancy is about 1 in 5?  If you discover the pregnancy is not progressing normally, you will have a miscarriage. This is important information for you to have before you make your decision.

Your Life Matters provides complete, accurate information and compassionate peer-counseling to women and couples who are making decisions about unintended pregnancies.

Everything we do is focused on allowing you to make healthy, informed and livable choices. At our facility you will encounter a supportive, non-pressured environment in which to explore all your options.

Pregnancy Testing

If you have been sexually active and are concerned about being pregnant, turn to us first. We have specially trained medical and counseling teams who really care about you. You are not alone.

If you are experiencing one or more of the following symptoms pregnancy is a possibility:  frequent urination , nausea, missed period, breast tenderness, dizziness, and/or change of appetite.

We provide lab-quality urine pregnancy testing that is accurate 7 to 10 days after conception. In normal pregnancy, HCG, the hormone present during pregnancy, doubles in quantity approximately every two plus days.

Our pregnancy tests are 99% accurate and (1) are done in a clinical and private setting, (2) results will be known during your appointment, and (3) can be taken before you miss your period.
